Gillian Clarke

In 1969, Gillian completed her foundation course at Wimbledon art college. Her career encompasses teaching art, ceramics, and supporting children with special needs, where art therapy plays a pivotal role.

Her choice of medium, often serendipitous, emerges during idea development, spanning cultural issues, historical themes, emotions, and memories. Gillian's passion lies in crafting aesthetically striking and original pieces, whether functional or sculptural. Embracing continuous learning, she experiments with contemporary ceramics, including reduction fired porcelain, stoneware, paperclay, raku, and saggar-fired works. This journey tests the boundaries of each medium, resulting in both challenges and moments of artistic delight.

Residing and creating on the picturesque Isle of Wight, Gillian's artistic endeavours are intrinsically tied to the world of contemporary ceramics.
