Tony Parsons

For many years Tony has been working as a caricaturist, winning a number of awards with the International Society of Caricature Artists. 2013 saw his first royal commission for Prince William and his fellow pilots at RAF Valley.

Tony's caricatures are entirely commissioned, his landcapes and figures are therefore an escape and now his primary focus.

At the moment about half of Tony's work is Plein Air (outside). He tries to capture an atmosphere, a moment. The workmanship is always urgent and fluid, it is an exercise in describing how it feels to be in that place at that moment. Tony's studio work is more thoughtful and generally dispenses with the urgency of making the outdoors into his studio.

Tony worked at sea for many years and still drives the Brighton Lifeboat so boats are a common theme. He loves the edges. Water, mud, sand. The coast is a never ending inspiration.

More recently Tony has begun using drone photography to capture scenery from an entirely new perspective.
